I agree with [~galder.zamarreno] here. There is no reason currently for optimistic transactions in the server. There is only ever 1 operation per invocation.

And the only reason afaik that transactions are even on hotrod is for the bug with concurrent replaces. It doesn't actually use transactions for their intended purpose allowing multiple calls to use the same context.
