Yes! And please allow both weak counters and strong counters; they don't have to be strictly implemented differently but they should respect your own specification.

It is very important that an Infinispan node can be started in local mode while having the same features as booting in cluster mode, as people will use this for integration tests.

Please be adamant in making all APIs normally exposed in cluster mode work with same semnatics in local mode - except scale of course.
