Do you think a hasBeenModified() method would be useful on VirtualFile? 

It would return true if lastModified() does not equal the timestamp of the file when the virtualfilehandler was allocated, OR, the last time hasBeenMOdified() was invoked.  Could be used in DeploymentScanners.
