Our customer needs that feature, so if it makes sense, I'd like to provide that.

Can someone point me to the files or give me a rough design description?

Additionally our customer is a big company, which uses a staged environment. A deployment from one to another stage should avoid manual interaction as far as possible.
Therefore an xml based import feature (addd/delete/replace per group) is needed too.
