I don't know about JBoss authorization framework.
I looked at Acegi and integrated a part of it (identification and login). It is a very nice framework. Will probably do the authorization part later.

As the portal will be used to integrate other applications (company applications), it is a good thing to be agnostic : it allow easier integration of the portal application among the other company applications.

There are a few post in user forum about Acegi integration, and a wiki.
