I want to transfer a couple of web deployer settings onto a valve.  What is the correct way of doing this?

It can be done via WebMetaData but do not want to do that. It is meant for web.xml/jboss-web.xml

Brian tells me that they have a hacky way done for the ClusteredSSO layer.
