I had my doubts about putting this here, but every Maven project needs a top level parent for settings like inheritance, repository, distribution, etc... So when we work in other parts of the Portal, besides modules, those things will be available.
I was told by Bill Gier to look at the microcontainer project for a model and I have also been looking at RichFaces and ASF's Trinidad. But those projects follow a little different directory structure.
I can leave a root level parent under modules and not worry about the current top level, if that will help. Or should we undertake refactoring to follow these other examples?
What do you think?
