Yeah, a pattern that can be applied often and is currently under discussion with some of my "consultant colleagues" ;-)

As soon as I have time I will write something about it on our homepage (www.camunda.com). As Ronald described, you can just handle it in your interface. If it gets asynchronous you can even wait if a task shows up for the same user in a couple of seconds...
