Okay, I have some spare time waiting on a support case so I will try out the following 

- Create the interface as above, called Mapper rather than Adapter
- Create a JBoss default
- Move JmsListenerMapper across to this mechanism
- Add support for default in jbossesb-properties
- Allow override of mapper from listener/provider
- Add tests for supporting all this

Does this sound good?
