This was a good start for me when i started looking at the deployment framework http://www.jboss.org/file-access/default/members/jbossmc/freezone/docs/2.0.x/userGuide/pt04.html. However some of the chapters in that document aren't yet available. I also agree that the javadocs needs to be improved from its current state.
