I tried reproducing this on my Ubuntu system, but couldn't. Probably Windows specific? Irrespective of what approach we end up taking for file system deployments, this probably qualifies as a bug in 7.0 Beta1 and so I created a JIRA https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBAS-9050 https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBAS-9050
