We made the change, since it was ambiguous, which persistence unit definition should be used.   https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-2275 Jira AS7-2275 describes the change.

Which persistence unit definition (gumPU, logPU, adminPU) were you expecting to be used?

Also, can you show the file layout of the ear and sub jars also?  It sounds like the PU counter is wrong, you only have 3 persistence units but the error message claims that there are 9.
