This was a bug in the designer which caused a JavaScript error. Is fixed now (see  https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBPM-3393 https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBPM-3393) and will be available in the next version. For now, please make sure that you have images for your workitems.
