The stacktrace shows that you are attempting to use Hibernate 3.x version.
By default AS 7.1 supports Hibernate 4 but it can be configured to support
Hibernate 3.x.  Take a look here  http://relation.to/21601.lace http://relation.to/21601.lace, topic
"Drop in a Hibernate 3.6.6.Final module".  This should get you started.
