I suppose this is a question for the EJB3 guys. I think ejb3 was falling back to the ejb2
timers and just tried to undeploy ejb3-timer-service.xml from a running instance and it
doesn't complaint.
I'd love to somehow get rid, reconfigure or activate on demand quartz. From the 69 thread of
the default configuration quartz hogs down 22 of them:
