They are testing a release candidate now.  Judging from the dev mailing list, I'd say that there is enough activity to get the release done this weekend.  Of course we can use any snapshot and I'm confident that it would mostly work.  But I'd rather ship a blessed version that has passed TCK and doesn't contain any major known bugs.  The MyFaces team has screwed up the last couple of releases and they are trying to be more careful this time.
