Multi-selection of messages is currently possible using the "control" key in Windows.  However, selecting more than 1 message must be done iteratively (i.e., 1 at a time).  We should be able to use the shift key to select a range of messages.  For example, hold down shift, select message 1, then select message 5, and messages 1 - 5 are all multi-selected.
