Only in 3.2 we will start with trying to expand the supported compatibility list. This all comes down to juggling with libraries and classpaths. In 3.1.x branch we don't have the infrastructure to maintain and verify multiple sets of libraries for checking compatibility with jboss version x, hibernate version y, ...
3.2 should improve this and we're going to try to get a number of these basic configurations supported out of the box
