The datatype BLOB for DB2 7.2 should be of the type BLOB (n).

CREATE TABLE JMS_MESSAGES (MESSAGEID INTEGER NOT NULL, DESTINATION VARCHAR(150) NOT NULL, TXID INTEGER, TXOP CHAR(1), MESSAGEBLOB BLOB(1024M), PRIMARY KEY (MESSAGEID, DESTINATION))

Creating a new file db2-jdbc-service.xml with the above changes.
