Yes, for my needs in 2.4.1, I modified directly the jsp files, but not very clean for prod.

A way of doing it (?): A config service that provide the various "piece of code" inserted in the JSP page ?

Then, providing a GUI in the portlet would be good too. But not a requierement for me (2.6.1 and then 2.8 ?)

Please, note to put the internal properties with protected scope (not private) so we can easily override it (if necessary)

Sorry, but I won't have enough availability to propose a patch for this before 2.6.1.
