It`s clearly some hot-deployment issue because it occurs only when I redeploy an exploded ear. The NPEs occur because different objects can`t get loaded by the classloader. My fix was to start developing on JRockit VM, where I don`t get this problems...

I can trigger the problem like this. (Assume using SUN JDK 1.6). Hot-Redeploy exploded ear with my webapp five (+/-) times, and then do some clicking around in the webapp.
