Aleksandar Kostadinov commented on JBAS-4939:
---------------------------------------------

The other issue of server start-up being very slow because messages sent are not seen by the sender I think that is somehow related to the above one issue and the change in behavior after RHEL 4U4. So one of the above hopefully fix that:

1. not bind the multicast socket to specific interface or bind to the interface which multicast route is set through
2. set the socket option IP_MULTICAST_LOOP if not already set

My feeling is that we should not try to guess correct interface but rather let OS choose the default one or the user use a start-up option to specify one. That will safe us from many issues.

> JBoss-AS-5.0.x-TestSuite-sun15-noip does not complete. After discussing the issue in the jboss-dev list, Brian found out the nodes are not configured properly.
> Open this JIRA case to make sure we follow up.
> Eventually, we should get rid of the 'noip' run.
