There are failures using Oracle JDBC 10.2.0.3 because of hibernate.jdbc.batch_versioned_data is set to "true"  in etc/hibernate.properties .This has also been seen with other versions of Oracle JDBC. The default value for hibernate.jdbc.batch_versioned_data is "false". 

There should be a note in the release notes recommending that the unit tests be run using their particular version of the Oracle JDBC driver to determine the proper setting for hibernate.jdbc.batch_versioned_data.
