The current consensus is that it should be an activation config property on the JCA adaptor. Given that it hardly makes sense creating one specifically in the JBoss JCA adaptor if an application needs to be portable. So in actuality it needs to be addressed in the JCA specs.

Whatever the outcome won't affect EJB 3 code.
