Remy Maucherat resolved JBAS-4859.
----------------------------------

    Resolution: Rejected

Changing this is difficult: inside the web container everything (config, work folder, logging) is based off this one property, and this won't work so well if you change it to something other than jboss.server.home.dir. OTOH, every webapp can have its workdir configured individually.

> Project: JBoss Application Server
> Issue Type: Feature Request
> Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
> Components: Web (Tomcat) service
> Affects Versions: JBossAS-4.2.1.GA
> Environment: n/a

> Presently the location for Tomcat's 'work' directory is hard-coded to jboss.server.home.dir; it would be nice to override this (as is done with jboss.server.data.dir, jboss.server.log.dir, and jboss.server.temp.dir) to move 'data' directories outside the server home.
