The org.jboss.test.virtual.test.JARSerializationUnitTestCase#testVirtualFileAdaptorEarInnerJar test illustrates the problem when one obtains a VirtualFile that should be equivalent to itself using an empty path and then try to navigate back to the file through a VFS.
