Thomas Heute updated JBPORTAL-1955:
-----------------------------------

Issue Type: Feature Request (was: Bug)
    Fix Version/s: 2.7 Final

I move this as a feature request more than a bug.
The reason is that from the spec, the validation appears on "store" using the portlet API. (and that validation occurs)

The admin portlet is more generic and is not necessarily bound to the JSR-168 spec, that said, i understand that the same preference validation mechanism would be interesting to have in the admin portlet.

> A PreferencesValidator (defined by a <preferences-validator>...</preferences-validator> element in portlet.xml) is usually called if a user tries to change a preference. This mechanism is bypassed in the AdminPortlet.
