Not sure what the problem is. In standardidentity-config you just put objectClasses that the user entry should have and you can specify some initial attributes values. Later, after user creation more can be set using UserPortlet and profile management. For this there is a profile-config.xml which define which user attributes are mapped to DB/LDAP and to which attributes exactly.
