I added customization for current users portlet. Now you can to go to instance portlet menu and manage the view for current users portlet. You have three preferences configured through boolean values:

guestNumber (true/false): shows how many users are connected  (guest or logged)

loggedNumber (true/false): shows how many logged users are into portal

loggedUsers (true/false): shows current logged users
