I am attaching a reference view from JProfiler that shows the references that point to the ArgsTestCase.class, the one that should have been collected.
Notice that this class is references solely by its class loader and the class loader of its super class. Yellow boxes represent circular references (i.e., those classes will take us back to the factory url class loader).
When the gc roots are requested, JProfiler shows us the green box that represents the per thread instances of JoinPointGenerator.AroundAdviceCallStrategy.
