Stan Silvert commented on JBAS-5560:
------------------------------------
The Seam team already has work underway to test Seam in a number of environments before doing a release.
However, we need something on the AS side that runs from the AS testsuite so we can always verify that the latest GA version of Seam runs on the latest nightly build of AS.
My current thinking is that we would take a few of the Seam sample applications and test them against AS using JSFUnit. So we would simply pull down the release versions of the Seam examples and run them. Currently, only the Booking, DVD Store, and Numberguess examples are being published to the Maven repo.
Will these three examples be sufficient for a good test?
The only other issue I see with this is that we should go through these examples and make sure that the markup has the ID attribute set for all the JSF components. That will make them testable with JSFUnit.

> A new version of Seam will often fail on the latest build of JBoss AS.
> We need to have at least some sort of "smoke test" as part of the AS test suite to make sure that the latest version of Seam always runs on AS as part of the test suite. This Jira task will allow us to discuss this and monitor progress toward this goal.
