This has been replaced with the org.jboss.metatype.api.annotations.MetaMapping annotation:
public @interface MetaMapping
{
   Class<? extends MetaMapper<?>> value();
}

which can be specified on a property to define how wrapping/unwrapping occur:
   @ManagementProperty()
   @MetaMapping(StringObjectNameMetaMapper.class)
   public ObjectName getNameAsString()
   {
      return nameAsString;
   }
