I'll recreate it and see. However, you're probably right in that there is a normal messaging rollback (ie. a deadlock occurs, or a cluster node goes down etc), and I have no problem with HeuristicMixedException being thrown for that particular message.

The problem is more that, once it is thrown, the node does not recover. Every message on every queue from then on just throws HeuristicMixedException. If the node recovered with just the loss of the original message (which was failing for its own reasons anyway) that would be okay.
