DefaultMetaValueFactory.createCompositeValue does not check whether properties are readable before attempting to access them. For example, creating a value for the following type:

MutableCompositeMetaType{org.jboss.beans.metadata.plugins.AbstractPropertyMetaData items=[name=annotations type=java.util.Set], [name=children type=java.util.Iterator], [name=classShortName type=java.lang.String], [name=description type=java.lang.String], [name=name type=java.lang.String], [name=preInstantiate type=java.lang.Boolean], [name=propertyReplace type=java.lang.Boolean], [name=propertyTrim type=java.lang.Boolean], [name=propertyType type=java.lang.String], [name=type type=java.lang.String], [name=value type=org.jboss.beans.metadata.spi.ValueMetaData], [name=valueObject type=java.lang.Object], [name=valueString type=java.lang.String]}

fails because property "propertyReplace" of org.jboss.beans.metadata.plugins.AbstractPropertyMetaData is not readable.
