I just installed the IBM JDK1.6 on my Linux box and it works fine for me, too. 

Then I unpacked the newly downloaded IBM JDK1.6 to the QA lab machine and tried to use it and it works fine as well. So obviusly it is something with our IBM JDK installation in the lab. The only difference I'm aware of is that the installed JDK has the JCE files applied (Java *Cryptography* Extension *Unlimited* Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files). I will check this with Alex - our lab admin and then update this JIRA. Anyway, it would be interesting to know what is the problem... Maybe it's just an older version of the JDK that had some bug.
