After looking at the thread dump, it looks like this is related to  a RichFaces bug, https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RF-4537.
The tests-profileservice target also runs the org.jboss.deployers.seam tests.  During the run, two tests fail due to timeout:
org.jboss.test.deployers.seam.test.SeamBookingExampleUnitTestCase FAILED (timeout)
org.jboss.test.deployers.seam.test.SeamJpaExampleUnitTestCase FAILED (timeout)

The RichFaces bug is marked FIXED with RichFaces 3.3.0.GA.  The version of RichFaces packaged in these test archives is 3.2.2.GA.
I'll verify this by updating the test jars to 3.3.0/3.3.1.
