Discussed w/ Gavin; we'll write up an integration test which includes AS, then close out if still not present.  Then notify Seam team to remove workaround hacks in https://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/seam/trunk/src/main/java/org/jboss/seam/transaction/EjbSynchronizations.java
