I'm able to reproduce in a number of environments.

Personal PC (work).  Dell optiplex gx745. 2gb ram.
IBM x 336 in clustered mode
Personal laptop, dell studio 1537

work pc is opensuse 11.1 + 64 bit.  2gb ram.
laptop's windows 7 + 64bit. 4gb ram.
336's are 64 bit, jdk 6.
