Do you mean it's a jmx-console bug? The actual filtering is done by the jdk jmx impl.

BTW, there was a slight change to support '*" as part of values in jdk6. (jmx spec 1.4  6.1.4). Before that I don't thing it was supported, except only as in domain:key1=value1,*
