Stan, this was uncovered running the org.jboss.test.compatibility.test.SerialVersionUIDUnitTestCase.

The test results can be see on internal Hudson (these jobs are not yet published to external Hudson) against Branch_5_x here:

It compares the serialversionuids from 4.2.3.GA and 5.0.0.GA and I just added a test for 5.0.1.GA which also exhibits the mismatch.

To run locally,  go to  Branch_5_x/testsuite and run the tests-compatibility target:

./build.sh tests-compatibility
