Steve, as discussed on IRC, I'm passing this to you as it's an issue of how Hibernate interacts with a transaction manager. But I first opened a thread on the JBossTS forum raising the issue, as it seems like a generic one -- transaction Synchronization needing to be able to load classes not visible to the TM's classloader. Perhaps the JTS guys will take it over.
