Those are 2 different versions in terms of releases, but they are actually the same artifact (the jpa 2 spec).  We just decided on what we think is a better naming scheme (group/artifact) and changed it.  

We put a lot of thought into that.  The issue is that because there is vendor/provider specific code in these jars (persistence at any rate) there are really 2 axis of version here: the spec version and the release version.  We chose to embed the spec version into the artifact name.  Y'all chose some other scheme.

Anyway, I still have no idea what, if any, actual work you are looking for from me here.
