A new EJBsDeployer was created in the JBPAPP_5_0 branch http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbossas/branches/JBPAPP_5_0/ejb3/src/main/org/jboss/as/ejb3/deployers/EJBsDeployer.java. This deployer creates components out of EJB3 metadata. The better place for this deployer would be the ejb3-deployers module in EJB3 project
