I'm working on a release as part of JBEE-15.   Currently AS 6 pulls in the el-api from:

      <dependency>
        <groupId>jboss.web</groupId>
        <artifactId>el-api</artifactId>
        <version>${version.jboss.web}</version>
      </dependency>

    <version.jboss.web>3.0.0-beta-1</version.jboss.web>

JBEE-15 is intended to identify the spec version the APIs are associated with.  We'll need to confirm with Remy but the above should be version 2.2 which can be used as an interim solution till jboss-javaee is released.
