Forget to mention that I can create a bucket with that name via the AWS Management Console.

The use of underscores is against their recommendations (http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonS3/latest/index.html?UsingBucket.html). If that's all this is, this JIRA is a minor issue.
