I haven't looked at the EAP code, but unless they've forked the java code, I think they just hijacked the value of the JBossAS-Release-Codename property in MANIFEST.MF and changed if from the AS project stuff like "Lightning" or "Ahoy!" and made it "(AS 7.1.0.Beta1-redhat-1)".  So you should be able to get that part using "release-codename".
