Sorry for your pain! Note that a workaround for Metawidget is to use modular dependencies (and not include ones you don't need, such as the Spring ones). See http://metawidget.org/doc/reference/en/html/ch09s05.html#section-howto-performance-jar

However, I would love to see this resolved as Lincoln suggested. Clearly it is impacting users.
