The BundleContext can be obtained from a BundleReference

    private BundleContext getBundleContextFromClass() {

        Bundle bundle = bref.getBundle();
        if (bundle.getState() != Bundle.ACTIVE) {
            try {
                bundle.start();
            } catch (BundleException ex) {
                log.errorf(ex, "Cannot start bundle: %s", bundle);
            }
        }
        return bundle.getBundleContext();
    }
