We had to patch that xerces problem, which is why you don't see it in AS7:
https://github.com/jboss/xerces/commit/8d7680fc7ffc82278efaa7ebad2ae1d05b1f6a0b

Xerces appears to originally been split into smaller projects which used SPI discovery. They merged them altogether but kept the SPI discovery, so if TCCL ever contains another version of xerces parts of it get used with the other one. The patch above rips all of that nonsense out.
