Max Rydahl Andersen commented on AS7-2169:
------------------------------------------

I agree about the bad feeling but what will be the semantics for looking up ${env.xyz} if there is a system property named "env.xyz" ?

If that works then i'm good since then I can use explicit system properties from command line/java launch to mimick the setup in a for sure OS portable fashion where as
having to mess with setting environment variables for a launch in IDE's and maven launches is going to be messy.

(I know I can use ProcessBuilder() since Java 5 to do this but not all IDE's/tools use that nor expose seting system environment variables for the specific launch)

> Currently the org.jboss.dmr.ExpressionValue only looks to System.getProperty(name) to obtain a reference value. We should try to also query System.getenv(name) if the system property is not found.
